Job Description
Our client in the Manufacturing sector located in Akosombo is seeking to recruit a Distributor Development Manager who will be responsible for establishing and expanding distribution channels across Africa. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in developing and managing successful distribution partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the African market and strong relationship-building skills. Provide leadership about distributorship development while developing overall distributor strategy.
Specific Responsibilities
- Set up our Distributor Network through the recruitment of Master Distributors and distributors.
- Create Master Distributors and Distributor agreements.
- Assist each Distributor in the development of their annual business and operational plan.
- Work collaboratively with Distributor Sales Team to increase distributor sales volume.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify key opportunities, trends, and challenges within the African footwear market.
- Analyze competitor activities and consumer behavior to formulate effective distributor development strategies.
- Research and identify new business opportunities, including new market growth area trends, partnerships, and new ways of reaching markets.
- Collaborate with senior management to define and implement distributor development strategies aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Identify and prioritize target markets and segments for distribution expansion.
- Identify and evaluate potential distribution partners, distributors, and retailers across Africa.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to secure partnerships.
- Negotiate distribution agreements, pricing, and terms with distribution partners to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Provide training and support to distribution partners to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to effectively promote and sell our products.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of distribution channels.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align distribution strategies with overall brand and sales objectives.
Job Requirement
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
- Must have a minimum of 5-7 years of working experience in a related field.
- Proven experience in Distributor development and management, preferably in the footwear or fashion industry.
- In-depth knowledge of the African market and cultural nuances.
- Experience working in multi-unit business environments or start-ups.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel across Africa.
