Job Brief
Our client in the Oil and Gas Sector is seeking to recruit an Insurance Manager with over 10 years of progressive experience in the Insurance Industry who will be responsible for ensuring the company has optimal Construction all risk (CAR) and Well Insurance programs in place. As the key point of contact with brokers, insurance companies, the Ghana Oil and Gas Insurance Pool (GOGIP), and the Ghanaian National Insurance Commission facilitating collaboration between internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimizing Insurance Programs:
- Ensure the company maintains optimal Insurance programs.
- Regularly review and update insurance policies to align with industry best practices and company requirements.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact with brokers, insurance companies, and the Ghanaian National Insurance Commission.
- Facilitate collaboration between our brokers and those of license partners, as well as between brokers and technical staff when necessary.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Provide timely and accurate information to the management team and license partners regarding insurance matters.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on insurance activities, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
- Policy Compliance:
- Stay abreast of state and federal regulations governing the insurance industry in Ghana.
- Ensure that the company’s insurance practices adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on risk management and program optimization.
- Strong understanding of state and federal regulations governing the insurance industry in Ghana.
- Excellent communication and cooperation skills to effectively interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to approach challenges with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong analytical skills to assess risks and optimize insurance programs accordingly
- Effective negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with insurance partners.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
