Our client in the manufacturing sector is seeking to recruit a highly organized and detail-oriented individual as a Vice President – Operations. The ideal candidate will spearhead all operations, drive efficiency, quality, and innovation to meet production targets and customer demands. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the company’s operational functions including Human Resources, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Security, etc.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of operational strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity across all departments.
  • Develop a high-performing team of senior managers and develop key performance indicators that hold relevant teams to account in terms of delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies across all operational functions.
  • Manage the budgeting and financial planning processes for operational departments, working closely with the Financial Controller to optimize resource allocation and maximize profitability.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and development in collaboration with the Human Resources Manager.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive operational excellence across all departments.
  • Oversee the development of effective information analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the development and implementation of all emergency planning activities including risk assessment of issues and development of plans to support these.
  •  To ensure the company maximizes the opportunities for partnership work across Africa and other parts of the world.

Qualifications

  • Master’s in business administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years working experience.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to manufacturing operations, supply chain, finance, human resources, sales, marketing, and security.  Experience in budgeting and sales.
  • Proven track record in operational leadership roles, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
